Blackout Blinds with Side Channels for maximum " Blackout "

Changing Curtains install side channels for their Blackout Blinds in order to prevent light wash at the edges. Blackout fabric does not let light through, but light does come in round the edges, side channels prevent this from happening and enhance the "Blackout" effect. We can supply Blackout Roller Blinds and Blackout Duette Blinds with or without side channels depending on what level of darkness you are looking for. Duette Blinds from Luxaflex offer many benefits including noise reduction, excellent blackout and excellent thermal qualities. If you also have side channels installed they are even more efficient.

Blackout blinds with side channels can also be motorised and are perfect for childrens bedrooms, or any bedroom where you are looking for nearly full darkness. If you are looking to make an existing window treatment darker it can be possible to retro fit blackout blinds with side channels behind the existing curtains or blinds depending on the shape and depth of the window recesses

there is some reflected light from the inside of the side channels, much more noticeable on these white channels than the darker ones in the first set of photographs. Having discussed it with the client I have some fibre brush on order to see if installing a strip inside the channel behind the blind will help. Possibly more photos to be posted on this one

* " Blackout " Duette blinds will not give total darkness, even with side channels, there are always some gaps around the edges, and a limited amount of light will reflect off the insides of the side channels
